Existe un grupo de verbos que pueden funcionar con una doble estructura:
There is a group of verbs that may work with two different structures:

1. Pueden ir solos en la frase, bien sean transitivos (recordar) o intransitivos (reír)
They may appear alone in a sentence, no matter if they are transitive (recordar) or intransitive (reír).

2. Pueden usarse en construcciones reflexivas seguidos por la preposición de.
They can also be used in reflexive structures, sometimes followed by the preposition de

Pero en ninguno de los dos casos el significado cambia:
But in both cases the meaning is the same:

Olvidé decírtelo. / Me olvidé de decírtelo.

Algunos ejemplos de estos verbos:

– compadecer / compadecerse de
Compadezco a su familia / Me compadezco de su familia

– reír / reírse
